The role

You will be expected to be involved in all the above but with a particular focus on helping with IT Cost Management. You will ensure that we have appropriate MI and control mechanisms in place to govern our costs and be comfortable working with budgets and forecasting. You will be working across multiple stakeholder groups and therefore should be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

You will be required to be well organised, self-sufficient, motivated and always looking to improve current ways of working, using your analytical skills to obtain information, provide insight and to propose solutions to problems and to work more efficiently.

You will help manage IT financial spending processes including Purchase Order requisition and invoice processing & ensuring we meet the Prompt Payment Code whilst ensuring that there is appropriate MI on costs across the function.

You will work closely with our colleagues in finance and department leads to assist in administering our Cost Centres through reconciliation and forecasting. Identifying risks (overspend and opportunities (savings) will play a key aspect of the role.

What are we looking for?

Key Responsibilities
Record financial data on business systems to ensure prompt payments and accurate financial reporting and therefore aid financial controls.
Check business system outputs to validate accuracy of data and identify errors.
Investigate discrepancies and correct these to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
Build and maintain relationships with key internal customers and external third parties
Complete a range of standard processes as required by the specific department to meet business and regulatory requirements
Ensuring accuracy in dealing with data.
Regularly working to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards.
Balancing workload in the context of service delivery standards.

Essential

Good level of accounting knowledge and experience

Knowledge of financial systems and controls

Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and the ability to build close working relationships

Ability to demonstrate analytical skills and good attention to detail

Great experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)

Good work ethic and ability to work in a fluid environment

Desirable

Experience of working in a Financial Services environment, in particular working with procurement related systems, is desirable.
