Best Buy’s foray into the UK market began in 2010 through a joint venture with Carphone Warehouse, a leading UK mobile phone retailer. The initial plan was ambitious, with goals to open up to 200 stores across the UK and Europe.
However, Best Buy’s UK expansion faced significant challenges. The economic climate post-2008 financial crisis was still uncertain, and consumer confidence was low.
