We are seeking a Finance Assistant who will be responsible for assisting in the daily running of the Finance Department. Ensuring the sales ledger, purchase ledger and banking functions are accurately completed. Updating financial records, making sure the organisation has their bookkeeping precise for budgets and taxes and to assist the Finance Manager in preparation for the monthly management accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Ledger Function
Product Sales
Daily review and reconciliation of management system sales and associated cost of sales, to create daily sales journal spreadsheet to enter into accounting systems
Update the daily operational spreadsheet to ensure availability for review by management team

Purchase Ledger Function
Daily input of supplier invoices into accounting system
Ensure supplier invoices are signed for approval by the correct authorised person
Ensure supplier is paid by the required date by way of tracking
Review and analyse supplier accounts
Inform management when a contract is due to expire or if there is a potential cost increase
Review and input credit card statements into accounting system, matching up the receipts
Monthly review of expenditure for the MMA’s ensuring accruals and prepayments are accounted for and input into accounting system within 3 business days after the month end
Monthly review and input of the depreciation calculation on Fixed Assets
Maintaining the fixed asset register
New supplier due diligence to be completed and logged
Banking Function
Monthly bank reconciliation of accounts in accounting system
Process and manage payments for invoices and expenses
Analysis of spending and budgets
Produce daily cash position in a timely manner
