ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The role sits within the Acquisition team, as part of the wider CX Activation team.

In collaboration with the Head of Acquisition, the role will shape the best-in-class social media strategy for respective NCs, accounting for platform policies and regulatory limitations, and working the Partnership and Content teams to identify new opportunities to engage and grow audience and community base. The job holder will work closely with the Paid Media team, ensuring Paid and Organic social align to one overarching approach and consumer experience, whilst reducing the reliance on paid efforts. It will further collaborate with GBS to roll out social listening capabilities to DRBUs and markets, collecting and amplifying the voice of consumers to relevant CX, Category and Product teams.

In addition, they will guide the wider organisation on how to measure and supervise the most relevant social media important metrics, such as engagement rate, audience growth rate, shares, etc. They will define the efficient number of social pages required for the business globally and continue to optimise our social content strategy (i.e. content mix) per NC brand.

Furthermore, it will collaborate with the Growth Hub and DRBUs to deliver acquisition POCs and ensure that the best use cases are implemented as leading practices across markets.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Graduate Degree
Extensive professional background as a Social Media Manager in a comparable setting
Deep understanding of Social Media channels and hands on experience with them e.g. Meta, YouTube, Twitter
Proficiency in Social Media management tools such as Sprinklr
Commercial-savvy with a shown ability to drive value from Social Media activities
Experience in driving PoCs and how to incubate pilots to rapidly learn
Proven commercial background and understanding of key drivers of P&L
Deep industry expertise in Consumer goods, preferably in combustibles/NC
Strong understanding of wider acquisition channels – e.g. Paid Media, SEO
Analytical skills, ability to interpret and analyse data
Experience developing positive relationships with stakeholders to deliver aligned activations
Self-starter that is able to work independently in project delivery
Resilient, flexible, and confident to work in an agile, dynamic environment
Knowledge of influencer management, creative and content best practices for Social Media would be beneficial

Owning the development and sharing the global Social Media capability roadmap for all NC brands, ensuring that BAT is delivering consistent and engaging experiences across social media platforms, cascading best practices to DRBUs and Markets to enable them to grow their communities.
Providing a strong POV on the enablers required to drive efficiency, such as technology, data, content, and partners. Owning all the sub-capabilities that fall under social media in the BAT Marketing Compass, ensuring these are relevant and updated to reflect maturity levels.
Supporting acquisition PoCs with Social Media expertise, and ensure activities align with Paid Media and SEO to get results.

Showcasing performance reports to internal stakeholders (e.g. Categories) and share clear insights, findings and recommendations.
Continuously overseeing market trends and identify new Social Media solutions/trends, ensuring they can be applied across our content in compliance with RMP and UAP
Collaborating with DRBU/end market Community Managers to collectively drive Social Media good practices and optimise number of pages, acting as a key support for the global content team (global social channels)
Driving overall BAT NC Brands’ social followership and engagement rate, set global targets and key performance indicators
Collaborating with other teams in assuring that the strategies and activities are aligned with the broader consumer journey and wider business goals.
