Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will provide expert advice and guidance to the HR team on designing and coordinating internal communication strategies for HR programs and services and key human capital initiatives to include benefits, compensation, learning and development, career mobility, employee experience, internal talent acquisition, and culture. You will coordinate the strategic creation and implementation of effective, impactful, high profile internal communications campaigns and materials to promote a positive, mission-oriented, connected and engaged workplace culture for over 8,000 employees. You will utilize various mediums such as email, blogs, digital newsletters, and other materials to ensure effective communication. You will be the primary liaison with our Corporate Communications and Marketing team to ensure alignment with other internal and external messaging and related events.

The Human Resources Communications Lead Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

Work closely with HR management to prioritize the most impactful HR programs and initiatives for potential communications and promotion.
In partnership with Corporate Communications colleagues, provide thought leadership/expertise and develop a unified communications strategy, ensuring connected and cascading messaging to employees.
Using the corporate editorial calendar and enterprise internal communications strategy, collaborate with HR colleagues as well as Corporate Communications and Marketing to create, schedule, implement, and oversee high-quality strategic content for internal channels, including email, blogs, digital newsletters, and other materials for HR programs and initiatives.
Create new communications campaigns in support of employee engagement and experience, culture, compensation, benefits, career mobility, policy, and other HR initiatives.
Work closely with HR Operations to provide oversight and support of human capital management (HCM) transformation (emPoweHR / Workday implementation) with key stakeholder messaging and to ensure alignment with overarching HR communications strategy.
Support Employee Experience initiatives to include Future of Work, flexible working practices and policies, and associated communications to employees.
Ensure consistent, impactful, and effective communications through the employee lifecycle of attract, retain, engage, and develop, in support of Human Capital Plan.
Partner across HR to facilitate strategic HR content on Fannie Mae’s intranet (HomeSite) and coordinately closely with HR Operations, content owners and Corporate Communications to ensure consistent, accurate and updated data is easily accessible to employees.
Serve as primary liaison with Corporate Communications and Marketing team ensuring strategic alignment and collaboration for non-HR employee messaging and communications (DEI/OMWI), Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), workplace security, business resiliency, company events, town halls, awards/brand, etc.).
Provide strategic planning guidance to HR Operations in support of HR leadership with internal HR messaging, all-hands meetings, and targeted engagement related activities.

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

4 years related experience in both Human Resources and Communications in a corporate environment required.
Knowledge of and experience working with different functional areas of HR, including Total Rewards, Learning and Development, Human Capital Management, HR Operations, and Talent Acquisition.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to include copywriting, planning and distributing communications, etc.
Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions.
Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change in effort to meet strategic objectives.
Ability to work with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively towards a common goal.
Influencing skills including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
Strong relationship management skills including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, contracting, etc.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
