The Groom Tech in Training position is focused on enrolling and completing the Level 1 training course provided by Petsense, known as “Paragon.” This training prepares individuals for a career in grooming and/or bathing through a 15-week virtual distant learning program. Participants will learn the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, safety, pet first aid and CPR, pet handling, dog anatomy, and physiology. The training combines hands-on practice, book work, online exams, and video reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully enroll & complete Paragon Level 1 training within five weeks
  • Safe pet handling, bathing, drying, brushing, and combing
  • Nail trimming and ear cleaning
  • Basic clipper techniques and finishing techniques
  • Customer service and professionalism
  • Equipment handling and maintenance
  • Ensure safety and well-being of animals
  • Inspect animals for signs of health issues and report findings to pet owners
  • Maintain sanitation of grooming tools and equipment
  • Assist in generating business through customer engagement
  • Maintain records of pet clients and services provided
  • Operate computer systems as needed
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them
