About the Philip Morris International Company :

Philip Morris International (PMI) is a leading multinational tobacco company with a significant presence in the United Kingdom. Although headquartered in New York City, PMI operates globally, including within the UK market.

In the UK, PMI focuses on delivering a diverse portfolio of tobacco products to consumers. While traditionally recognized for its cigarette brands like Marlboro, the company has been actively diversifying its offerings to meet changing consumer preferences and evolving regulatory landscapes. This diversification includes investments in smoke-free alternatives such as heated tobacco products and electronic cigarettes.

One notable product in PMI’s portfolio is IQOS, a heated tobacco system that heats tobacco instead of burning it, producing significantly fewer harmful chemicals compared to traditional cigarette smoke. This innovation aligns with PMI’s commitment to harm reduction and its vision of a smoke-free future.

PMI’s operations in the UK also extend beyond product manufacturing and distribution. The company is engaged in various corporate social responsibility initiatives, including youth smoking prevention programs and support for tobacco harm reduction research. Additionally, PMI maintains a focus on sustainability, striving to minimize its environmental footprint and promote responsible sourcing practices throughout its supply chain.

As with many tobacco companies, PMI faces ongoing regulatory challenges in the UK, including strict advertising regulations and increasing taxation on tobacco products. However, the company continues to adapt to these challenges by investing in innovative technologies and advocating for evidence-based tobacco control policies.

Overall, PMI’s presence in the United Kingdom underscores its commitment to providing consumers with a range of tobacco and smoke-free alternatives while actively working towards reducing the harm associated with smoking
